Wedding in Rome and Anzio Beach Photoshoot: Michal & Patrycja
Michal and Patrycja came all the way from Poland with their families to get married in Rome. Their wedding story unfolded across different days, between the city and the sea. There was the intimacy of their wedding at the Polish Embassy in Rome, the warmth of their families in Borghese Gardens, and later, a sunset couple photoshoot on Anzio beach. As a wedding photographer in Rome, I often meet couples who travel to Italy for its light, history, architecture, and atmosphere. But what I remember most is never only the location. It is the feeling people bring with them. With Michal and Patrycja, that feeling was full of warmth, playfulness, family, and a kind of happiness that stayed with me long after we said goodbye.
A Polish wedding at the Polish Embassy in Rome
Michal and Patrycja’s wedding took place at the Polish Embassy in Rome, surrounded by the people closest to them.
There is something very beautiful about intimate weddings like this. The day does not need to be big to feel meaningful. Sometimes, the smaller the wedding, the more visible every gesture becomes: a hand held tightly, a quiet smile, a family member watching with pride, a hug that lasts a little longer than expected.
Their families had traveled from Poland to Rome to stand beside them. That presence gave the whole celebration a warm and personal atmosphere. It felt like everyone was there not only to witness a marriage, but to support a decision, a life, and a new beginning. For couples planning a civil wedding, embassy wedding, or intimate wedding in Rome, this kind of celebration can be deeply personal. Rome gives the day elegance and history, but the real story always comes from the people around you.
Family celebration in Borghese Gardens
After the official part of the wedding, we continued the story in Borghese Gardens.
Villa Borghese is one of my favorite places for wedding photos in Rome because it shows a softer side of the city. Instead of traffic, crowds, and monumental architecture, there is greenery, water, space, and movement. For Michal and Patrycja, it became the perfect place to celebrate with their families. There were hugs, smiles, walking moments, glasses raised, and small gestures that happened naturally. Nothing felt forced. Everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there.
One of the things I loved most about this part of the day was the feeling of family around them. Michal and Patrycja reminded me how beautiful it is to build a warm, welcoming family, and how important it is to have supportive family members standing behind every decision a couple makes. As a Rome wedding photographer, these are the moments I always look for. Not only portraits, not only beautiful backgrounds, but the quiet emotional connections that say something true about the people in front of me.
Sunset couple photoshoot on Anzio beach
What made this wedding story even more special was the couple photoshoot in Anzio.
Anzio is close enough to Rome to be realistic for a relaxed beach session, but different enough to completely change the feeling of the photographs. After the elegance of the city, the beach gave Michal and Patrycja another kind of freedom. There was wind, sea, movement, wet sand, and the soft light of sunset. They walked, laughed, ran, held each other, and slowly forgot about the camera. The city part of their story felt intimate and elegant; the Anzio beach photoshoot felt playful, cinematic, and alive.
This is why I think Anzio can be a beautiful option for couples who want a beach photoshoot near Rome. It does not feel formal. It gives space for movement, for spontaneous moments, and for images that feel very different from classic city portraits.
And then, of course, there was the dog. An uninvited dog entered the frame during the photoshoot, but somehow it fit perfectly. It became one of those unexpected details that make a photograph feel real. You could never plan it, and that is exactly why it worked. For anyone looking for a couple photoshoot in Anzio or a wedding photographer in Anzio, this is the kind of atmosphere I love most: natural, playful, lightly guided, and open to whatever the day gives us.
The inner child still living in their souls
During the photoshoots, I was so happy that I could show the inner child still living in Michal and Patrycja’s souls.
There was running, laughing, playing, holding each other, and moving through the water without caring too much about perfection. Those are often the images I love the most. Not because they are perfectly controlled, but because they feel alive.
A wedding day can easily become full of expectations. Where to stand, how to look, what should happen next. But the best photos often appear when a couple forgets all of that for a moment. With Michal and Patrycja, I felt that freedom many times. In Rome, in Borghese Gardens, on Anzio beach, and even in the small pauses between the main events. They allowed themselves to be playful, emotional, elegant, and completely present with each other.
Candid wedding photography in Rome and Anzio
My favorite way to photograph weddings is to follow what is already there. I love natural movement, honest laughter, family dynamics, imperfect little details, and moments that happen in between. Of course, I guide when it is needed. I help couples move, walk, interact, and feel comfortable. But I never want the photos to feel stiff or disconnected from who they are.
Michal and Patrycja’s wedding story was a perfect example of this balance. There were elegant portraits in Rome, documentary family moments in Borghese Gardens, playful beach photos in Anzio, and quiet emotional details throughout the days. For me, being a wedding photographer in Rome means more than photographing famous places. It means understanding how the city can become part of a couple’s story without taking over the story. And with Anzio, there is another layer: the sea, the sunset, the wind, and the freedom of being near the water.
Why a multi-day wedding story can feel more personal
Not every wedding story needs to fit into one day.
For Michal and Patrycja, photographing their celebration across different days allowed the story to breathe. The wedding at the Polish Embassy in Rome had its own atmosphere. The family celebration in Borghese Gardens had another. The sunset couple photoshoot in Anzio gave us something completely different again. For international couples coming to Italy, this can be a beautiful way to experience the wedding. Instead of trying to do everything in a few rushed hours, you can separate the official ceremony, family moments, and couple portraits. This gives every part of the story its own rhythm. As a destination wedding photographer in Italy, I love this kind of approach because it allows the photos to feel less like a schedule and more like a memory.
A wedding story I will remember for many years
There are many details from Michal and Patrycja’s wedding that I will remember for a long time.
The intimacy of the Polish Embassy in Rome.
The celebrations in Borghese Gardens.
The joy on their faces during the sunset photoshoot.
The uninvited dog who appeared at exactly the right moment.
The way their families gathered around them.
The laughter, the movement, the warmth.
But most of all, I will remember how strongly we hugged each other just before saying goodbye.
They invited me to Poland and told me they would welcome me there as their friend. That kind of goodbye stays with you. It reminds me why I love this work so much. As a wedding photographer in Rome, I will never get bored of meeting people like Michal and Patrycja. People who come to Italy with open hearts, who bring their families with them, who laugh easily, love warmly, and let me photograph their candid, natural moments as they really are.
