A Relaxed Family Photoshoot in Rome with Kids
While I was in Venice taking some film photographs, I received a message from Christina who wanted to book a family photoshoot in Rome. A few days later, I met her and another lovely family, both visiting from the US, at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti early in the morning.

From the very beginning, the vibe was warm and easygoing. Christina, her friends, and all the kids were incredibly relaxed in front of the camera. We strolled around Monti, sometimes running along with the little ones, soaking in the neighborhood’s charm. They stopped for breakfast, explored a few shops, and even tried some perfumes along the way. It all felt very natural and unplanned in the best possible way.
I don’t have kids of my own yet, but I have always been a big fan of them. I love the energy they bring and I am constantly amazed by their eyes full of curiosity. Photographing kids is both a challenge and a joy. They move fast, think freely, and bring so much authenticity to every frame. Keeping up with them during a shoot keeps me on my toes in the best way.
During our little breaks, we chatted about life in Italy and even touched on politics. I shared a few of my favorite wine spots in Rome and offered some suggestions for their upcoming destinations. We wrapped up the session at Casa Monti Hotel where we raised a glass of white wine together to celebrate the morning.
It was one of those photo sessions that felt more like spending time with old friends. Definitely one to remember.
