A Dreamy Couple Photoshoot in Ischia
I met Audrey and Kyle in Ischia.
They are a young married couple from California, traveling through Italy and soaking in the beauty of the Mediterranean. I had the pleasure of traveling from Rome to meet them for a couple photoshoot on the island, and it turned into one of the most memorable experiences I have had behind the camera. I documented it with both digital and film photography.

Audrey’s first message to me was full of warmth. She shared a few ideas for the shoot but left the rest to my creativity. That openness made everything flow naturally. We planned two sessions, one in the morning and one later in the day, to take advantage of Ischia’s many different landscapes. From the colorful streets to the quiet coastline, the island gave us everything we could have asked for.
Our morning began at Café Florio. The streets were just waking up. Locals moved slowly, the air smelled like espresso, and the sun was slipping over the rooftops. Audrey and Kyle sat under a green awning, sipping coffee and chatting like they were the only two people in the world. The café was calm and full of charm, the kind of place where time stretches and you can hear your thoughts.
After breakfast, we strolled through the nearby streets. The light was soft, the air still cool. Soon, we made our way into a small park surrounded by greenery. There, we discovered a life-sized outdoor tic tac toe set. Without hesitation, they stepped in and started to play, laughing and tossing playful looks at each other. It was the kind of moment you can’t plan. Just two people being exactly who they are, together.
Later, we walked through the lively market where fresh peaches and ripe melons were piled in crates. Audrey reached for a basket while Kyle handed her a peach, pretending to be serious but unable to hold back a grin. The vendors smiled at them. Their joy was contagious. It felt like they had always belonged there, blending right into the rhythm of the island.
In the afternoon, we moved toward the water. The Castello Aragonese stood proud in the distance, rising out of the sea like something from a dream. Audrey and Kyle stepped barefoot over sun-warmed rocks, the wind tugging gently at their hair. They kissed with the sea around them and the fortress behind. They floated together in the blue water, letting the sun melt the time away. And then, without warning, they jumped. Holding hands and leaping into the sea, full of life and laughter.
Everything about this session felt effortless. They were warm, present, open. They let the day unfold without expectations, and that made all the difference. Before we parted ways, they told me to visit them in California, and they meant it. That kind of kindness stays with you.
This couple photoshoot in Ischia was more than a series of images. It became a living memory. A day full of sunlight, movement, salt air, and real connection. It reminded me once again that being a couple photographer in Italy is not just about beautiful places. It’s about the people who make those places unforgettable.
And this story belongs to Audrey and Kyle.
