Couple Photoshoot in Tuscany on 35mm Film and Digital

If you are planning a couple photoshoot in Tuscany, you are probably already drawn to something beyond just beautiful views. Tuscany has a way of slowing things down. The light moves gently across the hills, the days feel longer, and even the simplest moments seem to carry more weight.

I have been living in Italy for the past ten years, working as both a photographer and a writer, and Tuscany is one of those places I keep returning to. Not just for work, but for the feeling it creates. Every photoshoot here feels less like a planned session and more like a quiet walk that unfolds naturally.

My approach is simple. I observe, I follow the light, and I let things happen. Whether I photograph on film or digital, the intention stays the same. To document your connection as it really is, without forcing anything.

Why Tuscany for a Couple Photoshoot

Tuscany is often associated with landscapes, but what makes it special is how those landscapes interact with people. The rolling hills, the cypress trees, the old stone towns do not overpower the moment. They hold it. From vineyards to small alleyways, everything feels textured and alive. It is a place where you do not need much direction. Walking together, stopping for a coffee, or simply standing in silence often becomes enough.

For couples, this creates something natural. No pressure, no performance. Just space to be yourselves.

My Style

People often describe my work as candid and documentary. I do not stage moments or ask for constant poses. Instead, I guide lightly when needed and leave room for real interactions. I pay attention to small details. The way you look at each other, how you move through a place, the pauses in between.

When I photograph on film, I focus on tones, imperfections, and that sense of something lasting. Digital allows me to react quickly and capture everything as it unfolds. Combining both gives a fuller story, one that feels both immediate and timeless.

Where to Do a Couple Photoshoot in Tuscany

Tuscany offers a wide range of locations, each with its own rhythm. Here are some of the places I often suggest or return to:

  • Val d Orcia

Wide, open landscapes with soft hills and iconic cypress roads. The light here is especially beautiful at sunrise and sunset.

  • Montepulciano

A hilltop town with quiet streets, stone textures, and views that stretch endlessly into the countryside. Perfect for a mix of architecture and nature.

  • Florence

For couples who want both intimacy and movement. Early mornings in Florence can feel surprisingly calm, while the city slowly wakes up around you.

  • Siena

Warm tones, historic streets, and a slightly quieter atmosphere compared to Florence. Ideal for slower, more intimate sessions.

  • San Gimignano

Known for its towers, but also for the surrounding countryside. A good balance between structured views and open landscapes.

There are also many smaller villages and hidden spots across Tuscany where we can walk without interruptions and let the story unfold naturally.

Best Time for a Couple Photoshoot in Tuscany

Timing plays a big role in Tuscany, especially because of the light.

From April to June and from September to October, the conditions are often ideal. The temperatures are comfortable, and the light is soft but still vibrant.

During the summer months, I usually suggest avoiding midday sessions. Early morning or late afternoon works much better. The light becomes warmer, the shadows softer, and the overall feeling more natural.

Sunrise sessions can be especially rewarding if you want quieter streets and a more intimate atmosphere.

What a Photoshoot Feels Like

A couple photoshoot with me is not about performing in front of the camera. It feels more like spending time together in a place that inspires you.

We walk, we pause, sometimes we sit down for a coffee or a glass of wine. I may guide you slightly toward better light or a certain direction, but most of the time I stay in the background.

This creates space for real moments to happen.

Film and Digital

Some couples choose only digital, others only film, but most prefer a combination. Film captures atmosphere and feeling in a way that feels timeless. It slows the process down in a good way. Digital gives flexibility and allows me to capture everything without missing a moment. Together, they create a balanced story. One that feels both present and lasting.

Who This is For

I photograph couples at different stages. Engagements, anniversaries, honeymoons, or simply trips together. You do not need a special occasion. Wanting to remember a moment in your life is already enough.

Why I Keep Coming Back to Tuscany

Tuscany is not just about landscapes. It is about rhythm. Things move slower here, and that changes how people interact, how they look at each other, how they exist in a moment.

As a photographer, this makes everything easier and more honest.

Being based in Italy allows me to move naturally through these places, to understand the light, the timing, and how to adapt without forcing anything.

Beyond photography, Tuscany has also shaped me through wine and food. After completing my WSET Level II certification, I spent time with different wine producers during the grape harvest and also did an internship in wine production. Being part of that process changed the way I experience this region.

Wine and gastronomy often become part of the conversation during my photoshoots here. Whether we are walking through vineyards or sitting down for a short break, I am always happy to share what I have learned. If you are curious about a specific wine, grape, or anything related to Tuscan food culture, feel free to ask me.

If you are planning a couple photoshoot in Tuscany and feel connected to a more natural and quiet approach, I would be happy to hear from you. Below, you will find a selection of photographs I have taken across Tuscany, from the countryside to small towns and cities.

They will explain the rest better than words.
